BJP will provide political reservations to STs: Khatana

JAMMU, Mar 2: BJP State Secretary & ST Morcha National Executive Member Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana has accused NC-Congress Coalition Government of depriving the basic rights to the Gujjar- Bakerwal, Gaddi and Sippis of the State.
Addressing media persons at party headquarters, here today, he said that Narendra Modi is the only Prime Ministerial candidate after Independence who has recognized the miseries of these neglected sections and has assured for providing the rights to Gujjars during his address at Lalkar rally in Jammu. Modi had openly and proudly stated with great enthusiasm that “Gujjars belongs to Gujarat -Gujjars belongs to India adding that Gujjar hamare hain-and they will be provided all the rights very shortly”.
Khatana charged the Congress and Kashmir based political parties for exploiting these downtrodden sections of the society for mere political gains and depriving them of political reservations in Parliament, Assembly, Councils and at all levels, local bodies and Panchayats for the last six decades. The BJP will extend all tribal protection laws to Jammu and Kashmir after coming to power at Centre and also fight for these rights, he added.
He appealed the Gujjar community to come forward and support BJP’s Mission 272+ for stronger India.
He also accused the NC-Congress coalition for misusing Gujjar -Bakerwal Advisory Board, SC/ST/OBC Corporations, Social Welfare Department and other welfare organizations for minting money and ignoring the genuinely deserving lots of the society.
He further said that ST basties are running without shelters, clean drinking waters, schools, electricity, roads, rations, MNREGA & NRHM schemes, there is no sign of State and central sponsored developmental schemes, and also accused the Government for diversion of tribal money for other purposes.
BJP ST Morcha State General Secretary Haji Mohd Ayub Betab and State Press Secretary Balbir Ram Rattan were also present in the press conference.
