BJP will rule Guj in 2017: Shah

AHMEDABAD, Feb 27:
Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah today said BJP has been ruling Gujarat and will continue to do so even after 2017 general elections.
Mr Shah, who arrived here for the first time after his election as the national party president for a second term, was accorded a rousing welcome at the airport by party workers including Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and her cabinet colleagues.
Without naming the Congress party, Mr Shah said those who were hoping to defeat BJP in the 2017 assembly elections were day-dreaming.
BJP is going to celebrate the silver jubilee of its rule in Gujarat, shattering the dream of those who want to see the BJP defeated, he said.
Forecasting a resounding victory for BJP in assembly elections, he said there was great enthusiasm among workers from far corners of the state including the tribal and coastal belts as they have complete trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who wanted all inclusive development for Dalits, Adivasis, backwards and all sections of the society.
He said having made a small beginning as the Bharatiya Jan Sangh in 1950, BJP today was in power in as many as 13 states.
This shows the popularity of the party, he added. Though BJP was defeated in Delhi and Bihar assembly elections, he said, there was a significant increase in the percentage of votes it had bagged in these states. (UNI)
