JAMMU, June 8: BJP Kashmir Displaced Unit (BJPKDU) took stock of the EPIC Card distribution and other related issues in a meeting held today under the chairmanship of its president, TN Bhat.
The meeting expressed serious concern over slow process of EPIC Card distribution in other Assembly segments of Kashmir, where KPs form a sizeable vote chunk. A request was made to the Election authorities of J&K to initiate process for making EPIC Cards at Jammu Migrant Election Office (Shankar Building) itself.
“Moreover, the mismatch of name of electors in the voter list and EPIC cards should be addressed at the earliest at Jammu Office and the process should be streamlined for benefit of the masses”, the meeting said and urged the election authorities to speed up the process of EPIC Card formation and enlistment of new voters by propagating in mass media about filling of Form-6 for the purpose.
The meeting requested all KP voters, whose name does not exist in their respective constituency voter lists to visit Shanker building to fulfill the respective formalities for getting enrollment and making any correction if needed.
