Modi, Nadda to unfold future roadmap

JAMMU, Dec 22: Two-day meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) national office bearers started at Party Headquarters Deendayal Marg, New Delhi today.
The meeting which was inaugurated by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will be chaired by party president, JP Nadda. PM Modi on his arrival at party office was received by Nadda.
Sources said the two day-long meeting which besides the national office bearers of the party was attended by BJP president and organisational general secretaries of all States and Union Territories. During the deliberations, the ruling party will take the stock of preparedness for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as BJP is eying to win over 400 seats this time, sources added.
Sources said the party will also chalk out upcoming programmes and review the progress about the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalap Yatra.
Sources said the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalap Yatra a flagship Central Government programme aimed at ensuring saturation coverage of its numerous welfare schemes, the result of the recent five Assembly polls and the party’s nationwide programmes on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee are the issues likely to be discussed in the meeting.
Moreover, besides discussing the strategy of LoK Sabha elections and party’s preparedness for the same, it will also discuss the strategy for the Assembly elections to be held in four States including Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Sikkim with Lok Sabha poll in April -May next year, sources added.
Sources said the roadmap for future will be unfolded by PM Narendra Modi and party president, J P Nadda. Both will address the meeting in the concluding session tomorrow. The party cadre will be asked to go for the Lok Sabha elections with full enthusiasm and energy to ensure that the Narendra Modi takes over reins of Government for third consecutive term with party crossing the mark of over 400 Lok Sabha seats this time.
Sources said, the party leaders will be asked to redouble their efforts in their respective States to ensure that BJP achieves its target of 400 plus this time, besides emerges as force to reckon with in other four States which are going to polls along with LS elections by improving its tally considerably.
Sources said though primary agenda of the meeting is to have a threadbare deliberation on coming Lok Sabha poll, however, the opinion of members will also be sought on the probability of holding of Assembly elections in J&K along with LS elections or after that in view of Supreme Court directives of holding elections in the Union Territory by September next year. In light of this directive, sources within the BJP revealed that the party is actively discussing the holding of Assembly polls in J&K.
The meeting was attended by senior Ministers including Home Minster, Amit Shah and Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh.
Sources said among the senior office bearers of the party, BJP national general secretary (Org) B L Santosh, party general secretary incharge J&K and Ladakh UTs, Tarun Chugh and other party general secretaries are attending the meeting.
From J&K, party UT president Ravinder Raina, its organiational general secretary, Ashok Koul and party national secretary, Dr Naridner Singh who belongs to J&K are attending the meeting.
Party leaders are considering the implications of adhering to the Supreme Court’s timeline and are exploring the feasibility of organizing elections before the stipulated deadline, sources said.
Sources familiar with the proceedings stated that the BJP is consistently prepared for elections in the Union Territory; however, the final decision on the timing of the elections, as per the sources, rests with the Election Commission of India, the Constitutional body responsible for conducting elections in the country.
Meanwhile, as per the reports, a crucial aspect under scrutiny during the meeting is the evaluation of the flagship schemes and welfare projects introduced by the Narendra Modi-led Government.
The discussion will encompass the implementation status and the response of beneficiaries in various States and Union Territories. Party leaders will issue instructions to the cadre to rectify any identified lapses, ensuring that the populace derives the maximum benefit from these initiatives.
The meeting underscores the BJP’s commitment to meticulous planning and the effective execution of its electoral strategy. As the Lok Sabha elections draw nearer, the party aims to refine its approach, considering ground-level preparations and feedback from its State units.
The comprehensive discussions during this meeting are poised to shape the BJP’s electoral roadmap leading up to the upcoming national polls.
Sources said the prevailing law and order situation in J&K in view of yesterday’s terrorist attacks in Poonch and previous attacks in Rajouri and Kokernag on Army will also come up for serious discussion in the meeting.
