JAMMU, Sept 8: General secretary of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) and DDC Member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony, launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what he termed as a “flood of lies” in their election manifesto.
Speaking at a series of public meetings while campaigning for Congress in Bahu constituency, Rani Talab Digiana, Narwal Pain, and the Cantonment area, Tony accused the BJP of continuously misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir with empty promises.
“BJP has come to J&K with 25 new ‘jumlas’ to deceive the public once again. Time has proven that every election brings with it a barrage of false promises from the BJP. Where are the 2 crore jobs they promised for the youth? They have done nothing but betrayed the people, especially the youth, on the promise of employment,” Tony stated.
The senior Congress leader criticized the BJP’s ten-year tenure, questioning why the party is now pledging to fulfill promises they failed to deliver on in the past decade. “Who stopped them from implementing these initiatives earlier? Now, they are trying to fool the people by making hollow promises for the next five years,” Tony remarked, urging voters to see through the BJP’s deceptive tactics.
Tony appealed to the public to reject the BJP’s false promises and to support the Congress Alliance, which has a proven track record of delivering on its commitments and standing up for the welfare of all sections of society.
Other key speakers at the event included Sonu Dogra, Latesh Sharma block president, Sham Lal Basson (ex-corporator), DC Raja, Surjeet Singh, Kamal Singh (ex-corporator), Dwarka Choudhary (ex-corporator), Jatinder Singh Chib, Ghar Singh, Shamsher, Balwinder Singh Rinku and Fatal Hussain who echoed similar sentiments, urging the people to support the Congress-led Alliance candidate in the upcoming Assembly polls in J&K.
