JAMMU, May 30: Provincial president of J&K National Conference (NC) for Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta has criticised Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for initiating the Maha Jan Samparak Abhiyan to celebrate the 9 years of Modi Govt at the Centre.
In a statement here today, Gupta said that the people across the nation know very well that the BJP Govt at the Centre has proved to be utter failure on all fronts and they will never forgive the saffron party for bringing and following anti-people policies. He said that in such a situation it is not proper for the BJP leaders to celebrate their nine years of misgovernance and that too under the theme ‘Nau Saal Bemisaal’.
The senior NC leader said that J&K has been the worst victim of the BJP’s misrule. He said that there is acute shortage of drinking water in Kandi belt of Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts with people not getting water for 4 to 6 days in a week. This in itself speaks of the so called tall claims about 9 years of governance of Modi Govt made by the BJP leaders.
He said that J&K Administration must take urgent measures to lift water from Chenab in order to cover the water shortage of Kandi belts of Jammu and Jammu city. Gupta questioned what about Ravi Tawi Canal for which the Modi Govt promised to construct and cover shortage of water of Kandi belt of Samba and Kathua districts.
On Nari Shakti, Gupta said that during 9 years the price of LPG on which the Nari’s kitchen is dependant has rocketed from nearly Rs. 400 to Rs 1200. He said that on employment front the progress during these nine years is that unemployment has broken all previous records with J&K leading in the unemployment chart. He said that Modi Govt failed to create 2 crore jobs per year in nine years despite making tall promises about the same.
On the health front too, J&K is still lacking healthcare facilities not only in rural areas but even in the urban areas. It can be without any doubt be asserted that BJP Govt during its 9 years of misgovernance promoted only hatred among the people by playing divisive politics, weaken secular fabric and brotherhood, Gupta said.
