BJP’s concern over harassment of its leader in Handwara

JAMMU, Oct 28: BJP has taken serious exception to police action on its one of the leaders’ in charge North Kashmir and taken up the issue with higher police authorities demanding action under law against erring police officers.
BJP today said that one of its senior leaders, Mudasar, incharge North Kashmir was today detained by SOG Handwara for two hours without any reasons and harassed by the cops unnecessarily. Mudasar told Excelsior that a vehicle was wrongly parked by one of his friends in the town and police lifted it and arrested the driver. He said he took up the issue with concerned SHO, Handwara who assured him that he will release vehicle soon. Mudasar said “later I got a phone call from SOG and they asked me to come to Police Station where they not only harassed me but called me a ‘RSS Gunda’ ’’ he added.
“I was detained for two hours in Police Station, Handwara and harassed by SOG men. The cops snatched the keys of my car also and warned me of dire consequences if I brought the issue in the notice of higher ups in the party’’.
Meanwhile, senior party leaders of the State including party general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul has taken up the issue with senior police officers in the State showing his serious concern over the role of SOG men and its officers with the BJP leader who are working in hostile conditions in Kashmir valley.
