JAMMU, July 4: Bharatiya Janata Party Kishtwar (BJP) Unit Kishtwar has expressed grave concern over slow pace of work on Dangduru to Lopara road being constructed under PMGSY scheme.
The district vice president of the party, Ravi Kumar Thakur said that for last three years only three kms of the road were constructed. He said earlier the road work was stopped for want of Forest Clearance but after the efforts of then Minister and ex MLA Kishtwar, Sunil Kumar Sharma who took personnel interest in getting the Forest and Wild Life Clearance the work on the road was started. However after the fall of Government the Department has slowed down the work on the road with the result the people of this vast secluded area have been put to hardships.
Thakur said that it is unfortunate that in this modern age the people of Dachan area are without road connectivity and 25 km long Dngdoru to Lopara road has not been completed since last three years.
In an appeal to Governor, Satya Pal Malik , BJP urged him to issue directives to the concerned officers of PWD to resume work on the road and construct it on war footing basis. Thakur also sought the intervention of Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh who is also the local MP in the matter.
