Cong celebrates victory

JAMMU, Dec 11: The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president , GA Mir said that today’s results of Assembly elections of five states indicate that the countdown of BJP has started because of the decimal performance of Modi led NDA Govt at the Centre. It also indicates that the people have rejected the divisive and communal politics of BJP.
To celebrate the victory of the party, the Congress workers in large number including Youth Congress, NSUI, Mahila Congress assembled at PCC Headquarters- Shahidi Chowk in Jammu and raised slogans in favour of Congress party and its leadership amidst beating of drums, dancing and distributing sweets amongst them.
Speaking on the occasion, PCC chief said that Congress Party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi has emerged a strong force in the country and there is positive change in the mindset and the mood of the people because of the policies and programmes of the Congress party. He claimed that Congress would emerge as the largest party in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Mir said that the foundation of the country has been laid on secular ideals and harmony amongst different sections keeping in view the pluralistic character of the nation. But the political parties like BJP are spreading hatred and weakening the nation. But it is the matter of great joy that the people of the 5 states have defeated the designs of such forces.
Earlier, Mir addressed a meeting of party functionaries of various Cells of PCC like SC, ST, Kissan, Pahari, Legal, Trade and Commerce, Ex-servicemen Social Media PRIs, Refugees at PCC headquarters Shahidi Chowk, Jammu. Various ways and means were discussed in order to strengthen the various departments and cells of the Party.
Raman Bhalla while addressing said that today’s victory of Congress party in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh is the victory of each and every right thinking person of the country and it is the defeat of communal and divisive forces who are spreading lies and weakening Country through their divisive politics. He congratulated the party leadership and workers of the party in all these states who worked day and night and finally succeeded in their goal.
The meeting was also addressed by senior leaders Shabir Khan, Manmohan Singh, Shahnawaz , Manjit Singh, Vikram Malhotra, KK Pangotra, Shah Mohd Choudhary, Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat and others.
Similar celebrations were held at various district offices of the Congress Party in the region.
