Srinagar, Oct 2: The CPIM leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today said that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s promise of “good days” appear to have only favored the wealthy, leaving hardworking individuals feeling like they are still waiting for better times, as their lives continue to get harder.
Speaking during a press conference, Tarigami conveyed his deep concern for the plight of the common people who, despite the BJP’s assurances, continue to grapple with worsening circumstances.
He highlighted the stark contrast between the wealthy elite and the common citizens. “The good times we often hear about seem to be only for the wealthy like Adani, Ambani, Tatas, and other big shots. But for hardworking folks, it’s a different story. They start their day with bad news,” he said. Click here to watch video
Tarigami also highlighted the rising cost of living, unemployment, and the struggles faced by workers across various sectors. “If the Government is doing anything, it is making life more expensive. Unemployment is a significant problem, and workers on the ground, whether in government or in various programs, have real issues,” he said.
He particularly pointed out the dire circumstances faced by Anganwadi helpers, workers, and ICDS supervisors who have been waiting for months to receive their dues.
Tarigami expressed his concern over the increasing uncertainty in households due to the loss of jobs by casual laborers and daily wage earners. “People are dissatisfied, and we want to say that one day, they will ask you about the good days you promised them,” he said.
In a call for unity, Tarigami appealed to all organizations to join forces in the fight for their rights. “Whether they involve casual laborers or daily wage earners, we must recognize that we cannot find solutions to our problems separately. Their pleas fall on deaf ears, and we must unite against this tyranny and injustice,” he said.
