JAMMU, July 17: Rajat Singh Manhas, President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Jammu North, has appealed the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha to announce age relaxation in the recruitment of Constables in the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP).
Carrying placards with slogans in support of the demand, Manhas explained that after a long-awaited period, the new vacancies have generated immense enthusiasm among the youth of Jammu, but the current upper age limit of 28 years for eligibility has caused concern among many aspiring candidates who find themselves marginally over this age threshold due to the extended hiatus since the last recruitment.
Rajat Singh Manhas urged the Lieutenant Governor to consider an age relaxation, proposing an increase in the upper age limit from 28 to 31 years. This adjustment would provide a fair opportunity for many deserving candidates who have aged out due to the recruitment gap, he added.
“Granting this age relaxation would not only bring immense happiness to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir but also ensure that the JKP benefits from the dedication and passion of a larger pool of candidates,” he said, adding that this gesture would reflect the administration’s commitment to the aspirations and well-being of its young citizens.
BJYM leader hoped that this appeal will be met with understanding and support from the Lieutenant Governor, facilitating a more inclusive and equitable recruitment process for the JKP Constable positions.
