JAMMU, Apr 3: Bhartiya Kala Sangam (BKS) here today organized a programme on Dogri Folk Music under Repertory Grant, Union Ministry of Culture in which a large number of art lovers were present.
Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister was chief guest while prominent persons present on the occasion were Sohail Kazmi, BKS patron; T.R Sharma, chairman; Ramesh Singh Chib, Director; Leela Thakur Jamwal, advisor; renowned Singer, Anupama Sharma and art lovers.
Nidhi Dogra, patron Dogra Samaj Trust, Mumbai was special guest and the function was organized under the overall supervision of Vaishno Rani, BKS president.
Speaking on the occasion Kavinder Gupta lauded constant efforts of BKS to organize various functions earlier also and congratulated the management of BKS for presenting an enchanting Dogri folk music show.
Earlier welcoming the guests, T.R Sharma gave a brief account of various cultural activities undertaken by BKS since 1980.
He said that BKS is always open for artists, especially budding talented artists.
In the programme, acclaimed artists and other renowned persons were felicitated for their significant contribution in their respective fields.
Those who participated in the show were Tilak Raj Tagotra, Bishan Dass, Paramjit Tittu, Vijay Jittu, Ramesh Chander, Director Rectory Grant, Sudesh Manas, Aditya Kumar and Sartik Raj—all Singers. Bishan Dass on Harmonium, Joginder Pal on Tabla and Chandan Jassu on Sinth enthralled the audience.
The programme was anchored by Rajni Sharma and vote of thanks presented by Ramesh Singh Chib, Director BKS.
