Black-marketing racket of LPG cylinders busted, 2 arrested

JAMMU, Mar 19: City police busted black-marketing racket of domestic LPG cylinders by arresting two persons from Shaheedi Chowk area.
As per police sources, the sleuths from City police station conducted raid in a room at Shaheedi Chowk on Residency Road.
Police recovered 44 filled and 17 empty domestic cylinders from the room and arrested two persons, who work as delivery boys with Shivangi Gas Agency and Chenab Gas Agency.
The accused have been identified as Arshad Ahmed Mir, son of Abdul Ghani Mir and Riyaz Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed Rather, both residents of district Kulgam, at present Jogi Gate, Jammu.
The auto bearing registration number JK02W-6815 used to shift the domestic cylinders from gas agencies to the room was also seized.
They used to sale the domestic cylinders to hotel and restaurant owners for illegitimate profits.
A case under Section Essential Commodities Act has been registered against them at City police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Residency Road police post SI Sohit Trikha and SHO City police station Inspector Shakti Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Vivek Shekhar Sharma and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
