LEH, Dec 30: Secretary, RDD/IT, Shashanka Ala, called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) today.
Shashanka Ala, apprised the LG of several issues, viz. the delay in achieving the 4G saturation project in UT Ladakh by BSNL; the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to be signed between IT Department, LAHDC Leh and Siemens for Centre of Excellence to enhance skills of youth of Ladakh and the finances involved; the construction of the winter-friendly community hall to be constructed in Zanskar through Public Works Department (PWD); the request from students to set up digital library at the public library at different places in Ladakh, etc.
LG asked Secretary to take steps to blacklist the agencies involved in implementing the 4G saturation project in Ladakh. He also asked her to write to all the Heads of Departments (HoDs) not to put hidden expenditure on the exchequer of LG Ladakh.
He further asked her to discuss the plan to set up the digital library for the benefit of students so that the proposal could be sent to UT Administration for due consideration. The LG also asked her to appoint two next-door located teachers to look after the public library.
