Blaze inflicts heavy damage to four shops

DODA, May 22: Fire broke out in the main market of Thathri this evening causing heavy losses to at least four shops.
A mobile phone shop owned by Adnan Zargar, son of Akther Hussain Zargar, resident of Jangalwar; two sweet shops owned by Naresh Sharma, son of Des Raj from Badanoo and a furniture shop owned by Zubair Alam Shah, son of Abdul Hafiz Shah from Phagsoo suffered heavy damage in the blaze.
Immediately after getting information about the incident men from Fire and Emergency Services and cops rushed to the spot and after hectic efforts brought the blaze under control.
No loss of life has been reported in the incident.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
Locals told Excelsior that there is an urgent need for improved fire safety measures in the area.
