Blind hit & run case solved, accused driver arrested

JAMMU, Feb 2: Kahna Chak Police solved a blind hit and run case with the arrest of accused driver.
As per police sources, on January 29 this year, an information was received at Police Station Kahna Chak from reliable sources that a pedestrian namely Kavi Raj, son of Krishan Dutt of Flora Tehsil Marh District Jammu was hit by an unknown vehicle at Purkhoo double bridge.
Some locals shifted the victim to nearby hospital for treatment and further he was shifted to GMC Jammu where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver fled away from spot along with vehicle.
Acting over the information, a case under FIR Number 20/2021 under Sections 279, 337 and 304-A IPC was registered at Police Station Kahna Chak and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, special team of Police Station Kahna Chak were constituted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul.
A police team led by SHO Police Station Kahna Chak Inspector Vishav Partap Singh after hectic efforts and with the help of CCTV camera footage of different locations and other technical assistance arrested the accused driver, who was identified as Ram, son of Bhagwan Dass of Balshama Tehsil Sunderbani District Rajouri, at present Mishriwala. The vehicle involved in the instant case was also recovered and seized.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
