JAMMU, Apr 19: Canal Road police solved a blind murder case with the arrest of the accused.
As per police sources, on April 4, a person identified as Kailash Yadav of Bihar, presently residing in Bhagwati Nagar in a rented accomodation was assaulted by some unidentified persons with some blunt object at Bhagwati Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Canal Road police post.
After getting information, police shifted the profusely bleeding victim to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he succumbed to his injuries.
A case under FIR Number 45/16 under Section 302 RPC was registered at Canal Road police post and investigation started to solve the murder case.
During the course of investigation, several suspected persons were picked up for questioning and one of the suspects broke down and confessed to commit the crime.
The accused has been identified as Arjun Kumar Mehto, son of Late Lakshmi Mehto, a resident of Bihar, at present Bhagwati Nagar.
During questioning, the accused revealed that he attacked Kailash Yadav with some blunt object owing to some old enmity.
Further questioning of the accused is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Canal Road police post SI Vijay Kumar solved the blind murder case and arrested the accused under the supervision of SHO Nowabad Inspector Raghbir Singh and SDPO West Sugandha Mahajan.
