UDHAMPUR, Dec 13: With the arrest of main accused, Udhampur Police claimed to have solved a blind murder case within 24 hrs since commissioning of the crime.
According to the police report, one Mohd Yaqoob, son of Sain Ali of Mourd, Thatta was found murdered behind bushes near National Highway, Moud area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur, here yesterday.
A case FIR 498/2024 was registered in this connection under Section 103 BNS at Police Station Udhampur, and investigation was initiated.
Through meticulous examination of evidence and the analysis of technical data, the investigation progressed rapidly, leading to the breakthrough.
Led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Raghuvir Singh, Police team traced the accused and during questioning, he confessed the crime. Abdul Ghani, son of Hussain Ali, a resident of Mourd Bali, Udhampur confessed that he had murdered the deceased over some monetary dispute.
He was arrested immediately and vital evidence like weapon of offence (a wooden club) was also seized. Further investigation of the case is going on.
