KISHTWAR, Mar 16: A blind murder case of a hotelier has been worked out with the arrest of the accused and recovery of weapon of offence.
This was stated by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary while interacting with media persons, here today.
Divulging the details of the case, SSP informed that in the evening of March 9 this year, information was received that a shootout has occurred near Jamia Masjid Kishtwar in which a hotelier namely Ishtiaq Ahmed Dar, son of Ghulam Rasool Dar of Waza Gwarri Semina Colony, District Kishtwar was killed. Accordingly a case under FIR Number 58/18 under Section 302 RPC, 3/25 Indian Arms Act (IAA) was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
“A FSL team from Jammu was called to associate with the investigations and a SIT comprising Additional Superintendent of Police Kishtwar, Perbeet Singh as Chairman and Deputy SP Operations Kishtwar Nissar Ahmed Khoja, Senior Prosecuting Officer Mansoor Ahmed Sheikh, SHO Police Station Kishtwar Inspector Sameer Jeellani and SHO Police Station Chatroo Inspector Mohammad Bashir as members of the team was also constituted”, SSP said, adding that a team of police officers was also rushed to Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) Chandigarh to gather and analyze the forensic clues. The team which was rushed to Chandigarh by the District Police Office Kishtwar was headed by DySP DAR Kishtwar Manoj Kumar, he stated.
He said that on the basis of various suspicions and clues, police rounded up a large number of suspects including some females for questioning. On the basis of specific clues, police zeroed in one of the suspects identified as Muzzaffer Hussain Kamal, son of Master Wali Mohammad Kamal, Kamal Mohallah Kishtwar, who runs a Books and Stationery Shop and was tenant of the deceased.
“The deceased was forcing the accused to facilitate his immoral meetings with his wife and when it became totally unbearable, the accused killed Ishtiaq Ahmed Dar with a foreign make pistol, which he had allegedly received from Aamir Kamal, a local terrorist of HM and his cousin in the year 2011 in Pinjrarri area”, SSP stated.
The recovery of the weapon was made by the police in the presence of the Magistrates-Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ADM) Kishtwar, Tehsildar Kishtwar and the civil witnesses, SSP Abrar Chowdhary said, adding that the police is still investigating the various aspects of this case and will make public whatever new comes in the investigation in the due course of time, said the SSP.
