Blind murder of woman worked out, paramour held

BASOHLI, Dec 3: The police claimed to have solved a blind murder of middle-aged woman in Kardoh area of  Bani tehsil with the arrest of her paramour  from Lakhanpur area today.
The dead body of the deceased Nirmala Devi (42), wife of  Duni Chand of  village Khadi in Basohli was recovered on December 25 from Magial nallah. She had been thrown into about 500 meter deep nallah from the road  in Kardoh area of Bani. This woman had gone to her parent’s house in Kardoh on December 18 and went missing. A missing report was lodged at Basohli police station by her son Kundu Ram while her husband works in Hyderabad.
SSP Kathua, Atul Goel framed a police team under the supervision of SDPO Basohli Mohd Rafiq which managed to work out the case. Bani police party led by SHO Inayat Ali arrested the accused Sandeep alias Sonu (29), son of  Krishan Chand resident of Hut. The accused is a load carrier driver and had been evading arrest.
SDPO when contacted disclosed that a mobile phone belonging to Nirmala was also recovered from the spot. From the call details, it was established that maximum calls had been from one particular number and during investigation it was found that this woman had illicit relations with the driver Sandeep. She went with Sandeep from Basohli and did not reach at parent’s house. She remained missing. There had been old affair between the two and now Sandeep wanted to get rid of her. She was forcing Sandeep not to marry and intended to live with him. Sandeep disclosed the police that he beat up her in the vehicle  and he died. Then he threw the body in the gorge. Nirmala’s one daughter is married and has two unmarried sons.
The police registered case FIR No.  52/2012 under section 302 RPC against the accused and placed him in the police lock up. It managed to solve this blind murder with in a week’s time.
