JAMMU, Nov 29: A specialist’s team from New Delhi’s BLK Super Speciality visited Jammu and advised the residents on their health concerns in a special camp held here.
As problems of bones among elderly, prostrate among men and urinary inconsistencies among children and women typically register a rise during winters, they asked people not to ignore any symptoms around these ailments.
Dr H S Bhatyal, Advisor & Senior Consultant, Urology & Renal Transplantation, BLK Super Speciality Hospital said, “Early diagnosis and medical intervention are key to ensure that these problems do not aggravate.” At this camp, a special effort was made to create awareness around early diagnosis so that problems can be diagnosed and treated well in time.
The camp was organized at Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha as part of BLK Super Speciality Hospital’s commitment to serve people of Jammu better and bring world class healthcare facilities to their door step. The camp saw over 500 people including children, women and elderly availing free screening, investigation and consultation for Orthopedics, Cardiology, Urology and Oncology.
Dr Rakesh Mahajan, Sr Consultant in BLK Centre for Orthopaedics, Joint Reconstruction & Spine Surgery, BLK Super Speciality said, “Jammu is lacking in surgical advancements in Orthopedics, like revision Knee and Hip replacements, Minimal invasive spine surgeries and limb salvage surgeries. Through this camp we endeavor to spread awareness regarding the possibilities through which quality of life can be attained.”
People were also sensitized about problems among elderly including joint pains and other bone related issues and ways to deal with these. Issues of cancer and heart ailment too were discussed. “Being conscious about the problem, approaching specialist medical care and going in for treatment if diagnosed early are some of the basics of fighting cancer,” informed Dr Ashish Goel, Sr consultant, Oncology, BLK Super Speciality Hospital.
