JAMMU, Oct 11: Apni Party General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra expressed concern over the restrictions imposed on the movement of locals in Panjtirthi after the blocking of road in Mubarak Mandi area by the authorities concerned.
In a handout, Malhotra said that people living in areas adjoining Mubarak Mandi have been put to unnecessary hardships by the authorities engaged in renovation of the heritage place.
“Blocking of road is unjustified and the locals should not be harassed. The concerned authorities should focus on the already delayed renovation work of the heritage place instead of adding miseries to lives of the locals,” said Malhotra.
It is pertinent to mention here that entry has been restricted through entry gates of Mubarak Mandi for locals.
Malhotra demanded that these restrictions should be lifted.
He also said that people in old city are also facing parking issues and traffic police is not even allowing the vehicles to be parked outside the homes or shops.
“This dictatorial attitude is not tolerable and it may force people to come out in protest,” he maintained. Meanwhile, over a dozen youth joined Apni Party. Prominent among those who joined the Party were Shamsher Singh, Gagan Deep Singh, Sanjeev Thakur, Pankaj Gupta, Vishal Thakur, Aprajit Singh Jamwal, Romesh Singh, Ashok Kumar Tak, Abhay Charak, Abhi Jamwal, Ashutosh Salathia, Hrithik Jamwal, Atul Jamwal, Dhanajay Salathia, Parth Singh Salathia, Sourav Tak, Rajinder Tak, Sanjeev Thakur, Pankaj Gupta and Vishal Thakur.
