Bloeria, VC SKUAST-K call on Governor

SRINAGAR, Oct 5: Dr. S.S. Bloeria, Member Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), met Governor N N Vohra, Chairman of the Board at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The Governor and Dr. Bloeria discussed various important issues relating to the future growth and development of facilities in the various institutions established by the Shrine Board.
The Governor and Dr. Bloeria also discussed matters relating to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage.
Prof. Nazeer Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir Uni-versity of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir also met Governor.
The Governor congratulated the Vice Chancellor for securing 17 new projects, worth Rs. 5.68 crores which have been approved by various external funding agencies. He also complimented the VC for the Faculty of Agriculture, Wadoora, being granted Star College recognition by the Union Ministry of  Science and Technology, with funding support of Rs. 46 lakh, and for the Basic Horticulture Training Course being commenced at Stakna, Leh.
The VC sought the Governor’s intervention for the security forces vacating the University Research Stations at Khudwani, Pohnu and Balpora which was adversely affecting the University’s research and extension activities. He also sought help for un- interrupted infrastructure development at Shalimar keeping in view the restrictions on construction around Dal lake by LAWDA.
The Governor and the VC also discussed issues relating to financial resources, re-organisation of available staff strength and filling up vacant posts of scientific staff, and carrying out academic reforms.
