JAMMU, May 18: The NSS unit of Government College of Engineering & Technology (GCET), Jammu in collaboration with Department of Blood Transfusion, GMC Jammu today organized a blood donation camp in its campus.
The Camp was held under the patronage of Principal Prof (Dr) Sameru Sharma. While inaugurating the camp, she told the students that blood donation is a healthy process and human body can replenish the blood donated in 4 to 8 weeks, while the blood plasma gets replenished within 48 hours.
Around 63 students including the staff members donated the blood and equal number of students and staff got checked their Hb and blood groups. The whole procedure was performed under the guidance of Dr Sahil and his technical team including Sonia, Shabnam Ara, Sunita, Sonu, Vishal, Rafiq and Pawan.
The event was coordinated by NSS volunteers Jaanvi Sharma, Gazanafar Kasmi, Prajwal Nagar, Rakshant Balotra and Sunidhi Sharma under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer Dr Raman Gupta.
The senior staff members who were present during the event included Hirinder Dingra, Sanjeev Gupta, Sumeer Khajuria, Ranjan Kumar, Dr Rajinder Singh, Prof Altaf Ahmad, Rajat Sharma, Surjeet Ranyal, Atit Sharma and Sunil Kumar.
