Blood donation camp  dedicated to soldiers

JAMMU, Mar 4: Former Health Minister and senior PCC leader, Sham Lal Sharma today inaugurated a blood donation camp, dedicated to Indian soldiers in Gandhi Nagar area here today.
The camp was organized by  an NGO- Jahaan in  association with Rotary Club & Blood Transfusion Department, Government Medical College Jammu at Rotary Club, Gandhi Nagar Jammu. It was held under the supervision of Sunali and Advocate Sahib Aggarwal, founder members of the NGO.
While speaking on the occasion, Sham Sharma appreciated the efforts of  NGO members in organising such event and said it  will go a long way in serving the humanity. He said blood donation is like donating life to the person who is in need of the same in case of an accident or being operated upon and we all should try to be voluntary donors, which would be our contribution towards humanity and nation.
He further said that transfusion of  blood every year saves millions of lives all over the world. There are millions of  blood donors all over the world but still there are a number of countries who don’t have adequate number of blood suppliers and face the challenge. He said  that blood donation  will cost you nothing but it will save a life & is a most precious gift one must give for those who are in dire need of it.
Sunali Aggarwal said that the aim of organising today’s blood donation camp was to provide blood to needy Army  and other security personnel who get injured during exchange of fire on border as well as during encounters.
She said that our brave soldiers are sacrificing their lives for the future of our generation and it is duty of every citizen to pay respect to our soldiers.
“I am highly glad that with your love and support this organisation is nourishing well and has been able to bring bright smile to many faces,”  Sahib Aggarwal said.
