Blood donation camp held

JAMMU, Feb 9: Continuing its social service activities, Sikh Youth Sewa Trust (SYST) in collaboration with the Jammu chapter of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), and Blood Transfusion Department, GMC today organized a Blood Donation Camp in the premises of Gurudwara Sant Pura Danna, Nanak Nagar, Jammu.
The camp was inaugurated by former MLC and chairman DGPB, Trilochan Singh Wazir, while Superintendent GMC Jammu, Ramesh Gupta, secretary IRCS, SC Puri besides many other officials of the society were also present on the occasion. All the dignitaries applauded the efforts of the organizers for their noble gesture and emphasized on the need of such kind of programs so that a life can be saved in hours of emergency.
More than 40 people especially the younger ones donated blood during the conducting of the camp.
While addressing media persons chairman of the trust, Tejinder Pal Singh emphasized on the teachings of Sikh Gurus saying that they have taught us to live not only for them but for others also and trying to follow the path shown by the Guru Sahiban, he and his team have organized the said camp and will continue their efforts for the help of poor and needy people of the society.
