Blood donation camp held

UDHAMPUR, Nov 28: A blood donation camp was organized by the Command Hospital (NC) under the aegis of HQ Northern Command here today.
The camp was inaugurated by Lieutenant General Sanjiv Chachra, GOC-in-C, Northern Command in a function held at the North Star Clinic.
Speaking on the occasion Colonel Nikhil Moorchung, HoD Pathology of Command Hospital, Udhampur, spoke on the advantages of blood donation.
He emphasized that one unit of 350 ml of liquid red gold, as it is called, with component separation can save as many as four lives.
More than 50 donors including Lieutenant General Sanjiv Chachra, Lieutenant General HJS Sachdev, Chief of Staff, HQ Northern Command, Major General PP Verma, MG (Med) HQ Northern Command, Major General Bipin Puri, Commandant Command Hospital (NC) and other senior military dignitaries donated blood on the occasion.
