RAMBAN, June 26: A blood donation camp organised by the Sant Nirankari Mission was held here today.
During the camp 100 persons donated their blood.
The camp was inaugurated by Sant Harbhajan Singh Chawla, Member Incharge Prachar Prasar Sant Nirankari Mission, Delhi in presence of BP Singh, Zonal Incharge, Sant Nirankari Mission, Udhampur.
People from all sections of society or communities and gender donated their blood.
A ten member team from Department of Immunohematology Blood Transfusion, GMC, Jammu led by Dr Sahil Gorka collected the blood and took it to GMC, Jammu in a special van.
Ajit Singh, Zonal Incharge Sant Nirankari Mission, Jammu said that Sant Nirankari Mission has been organising many a such Blood Donation Camps since 1986 and so far it’s volunteers have donated about 13 lakh units of blood and every year about 600 Blood Donation Camps are organised across Bharat.
He said that Mission believes that our blood should flow in veins instead of drains.
On the occasion, an annual Sant Samagam was also organised, wherein thousands of devotees from various parts of Jammu province and north India listened to the pravachans, Katha and Keertan by prominent scholars and singers.
