BLSKS, CAF organise mega cultural programme at Abhinav Theatre

JAMMU, Nov 16: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) and Chinar Art Foundation (CAF) Jammu organiged a cultural programme (Mehfil-e-Kalakar) here at Abhinav Theatre  on the theme of national integration and communal harmony today.
Former Chief Secretary and MLC, Vijay Bakaya was the chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the function. Makhan Lal Saraf, Sachin Kumar, Event Director, Kusam Dhar chairperson, CAF, T N Pandita, former Superintendent of Police, M L Dogra, Chairman BLSKS were the guests of honour on the occasion.
A folk cultural Duggar performance (Tare Turdan Paiyan) by BLSKS, Kashmiri dance including Bach Nagma by Rakesh Khar and Ladakhi colorful dance and majestic on the occasion and short story play in Hindustani title “Window to Khuli” by the famous artist of Doordarshan and Radio were the main highlights.
The renowned artist of BLSKS Usha Handoo, M C Kotwal, K K Joshi, Zulekha Farid were part of the programme.
Vijay Bakaya in his address appreciated the role of BLSKS and CAF Jammu to present folk theatre and art for highlighting the importance of cultural heritage through live programmes of art and culture which are still very powerful medium of various social evils and welfare schemes for betterment and promotion of society.
Kusam Dhar chairperson CAF highlighted the mission of artists for staging a scantling  performance where in over 600 prominent persons , producers, directors and people witnessed the programme and also urged that such efforts of organization should continue in contributing towards promoting the cultural heritage of India especially of diminishing  traditional folk , music, art of the country.
The rich treasure of old age generation and traditional culture which reflects the human values , customs and traditions of Himalayan region were prominently focused by a  contingent of over 40 trainees and renowned folk artists of the region. The renowned artist  and Anchor Kusam Tickoo conducted the programme . The vote of thanks was proposed by Rakesh Khar.
