JAMMU, July 7: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in coordination with Nami Dogri Santha (NMS) organized a musical evening titled “Mohan Dogra Te Undiyaan Dogri Rachanaan” here today at KL Saighal Hall.
Renowned musicians/ singers/ composers including Kartar Chand, Suraj Singh, Usha Handoo, Dr Chanchal Sharma, Rajni Gupta, Neelam Gandotra, Kamli Devi, KK Joshi, Hem Raj, Raju Bajgal, Afroz Raaz, Kuldeep Raj, Sudesh Pummy and Roshi Shaminotra participated in the event and make the evening colourful by presenting selected Dogri songs of ML Dogra.
Prof Yash Pal Sharma, Head, Department of Botany, University of Jammu, was the chief guest on the occasion. In his speech, he underlined the importance of holding such cultural meets for nourishment of Dogri language among younger generation.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohan Lal Dogra, unveiled his long journey in promotion of traditional art, culture and folk of the region. Dogra assured the audience that he would leave no stone unturned in enriching the culture of the region in his life time with cooperation of all likeminded people.
Earlier, VK Magotra, Managing Director, BLSKS, apprised the guests about various literary progarmme undertaken by ML Dogra under the banner of (BLSKS) since its establishment.
DC Raina, former Advocate General of J&K, who presided over the function, called upon the artists/eminent Dogri scholars to come forward in spreading Dogri language in every nook and corner of the region.
