JAMMU, Mar 23: To celebrate ongoing Navratra festival, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) organized two days devotional folk song-cum-dance festival in coordination with Durga Pooja Samiti, Katra at Katra under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The program commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by chief guest Deepak Paroch, President Durga Pooja Samiti Katra in presence of Neelam Khajuria, SDM Katra, Vinod Sharma DySP Katra, who were guests of honour. Executive members of Durga Pooja Samiti namely Shanker Dass, Rajinder Heera, Vinay Heera, Neelam Arora, Neeraj and Rahul Gandotra, VK Magotra, MD, BLSKS and RP Amla, Event Director were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, artists presented various Dogri folk items, which were highly applauded by the audience with thundering applauses.
Earlier, a programme on the themes “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” and Swatch Bharat” was presented at Trikuta Public Higher Secondary School, Katra. Swarn Lata Chiragi, Principal and students were present during the programme. The programme was organized in collaboration with the Education Department.
The programme was written, produced and directed by the Chairman of BLSKS, ML Dogra, who while speaking informed that a special programme on glimpses of the “Mata Vaishno Devi” will be presented tomorrow.
The artists, who performed in the programme were Usha Handoo, Zulekha Farid, KK Joshi and Raju Bajgal. The artists of BLSKS, Raju Bajgal and Party, Sanjay Pashi and Party, MC Kotwal and Party, Deepak Kumar & Party, Sahil Gill and Party, Ali Mohammad and party and Ram Ditta and party also performed during the programme.
The programme was conducted by KK Joshi, Vice Chairman BLSKS.
