BLSKS presents 218th musical play ‘Ladli’

JAMMU, July 21: To promote the traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged its  218th  Saturday Series Musical Play  ‘Ladli’ in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production & National College of Computer Education as part of its regular feature  on the theme of “Bhrun  Hatya – Save Girl Child” at Durga Bhawan Janipur, here today.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, while Dr Anju Dogra, Health Department, J&K Government , Dr Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health Department , Vinod Dogra, Chief Service Engineer Excide and RP Amla, Event Director were the guests of honour.
The programme commenced with welcome song presented by the artists of BLSKS and students of the institute.
The music was assisted  by renowned singers  of J&K, Usha Handoo, MC Kotwal  and Raju Bajgal.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the role of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan-(NGO) and underlined the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the state to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre/drama which are still very powerful medium of communication.
ML Dogra (Chairman, BLSKS) presented welcome address and highlighted the importance of  ‘Ladli Scheme’ of Government of India.
Mr Dogra further said that on the theme of foeticide, the Nukkad  play  ‘Bhrun Hatya’ powered by JKAACL is also being presented  at  Maharaja  Hari Singh , JDA Park , Near  hotel  Fortune Jammu.
The singers, musicians, actors and students of music and Computer Institute who performed in the musical play were Usha Handoo, MC Kotwal, Raju Bajgal, Kuldeep Raj,  Chahat Chadha, Deevam Jandiyal,  Sawyam, Rakshit Sharma,  Rajinder  Saini, Rajni Gupta, Ujwal Sharma,  Kamla Devi, KK Joshi and Sudesh Pummy.
Finally Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
