BLSKS presents Dogri musical concert ‘Nashe Kola Bacho’

JAMMU, Nov 5: For promoting the traditional culture of J&K and creating awareness among the masses, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in close coordination with Directorate of Social Welfare Department (J&K) and Sangam Tru Art Production, presented 85 Friday Dogri Musical Concert “NASHE KOLA BACHO” during Quarantine time on the theme of “Drug Abuse” at Rehearsal Hall , Durga Bhawan Janipur, Jammu to promote most effective measures to protect the masses especially the vulnerable population i.e. adolescents from getting exploited by the menace of drug addiction and enable them to adopt safe and rational use of drugs by way of generating awareness through effective information and communication technologies.
The program was inaugurated by VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in presence of Dr Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, Health Department J&K Government, Dr Anju Kumari Dogra, Health Department Jammu and RP Amla, who assisted the Concert.
The specially prepared items on the theme “Nasha Na Karna Maan Lo Kehna”, “Nasha Nai Kario Munde Kureio” , ” Bacho Bacho Tobacoo Kola Bacho”, “Nai Pee Shraban”, “Bari Kharab Chutki”, “Nahin Piya Tobacco Balma”, Nukkad, skits , songs and dances were presented to aware the masses.
The chief guest Magotra said the effects of drugs comes at a stage when a person who takes drugs becomes dependent on them and keep on taking them. He said that all the agencies must work collectively to remove this menace from the society. The teachers and schools must educate children and youth about harms of drugs.
In addition to the above programe the artist of BLSKS also presented awareness songs “Do Gaz ki Dori- Bari Zarori on COVID-19”. The song was written by Dr ML Dogra and music of the concert was assisted by Rajeev Salotra, Music instructor, BLSKS. The songs were recorded and upload on social media for general public.
Several artists including KK Joshi, MC Kotwal, Zulekh Farid, Chahat Chadha, Sanjeev Sodhi, Rajeev Salotra and others contributed.
