JAMMU, Nov 19: To promote  the traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged 130th musical play “Ladli Beti”  in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production and ESRM at Durga Bhawan, Janipur Jammu.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest  Dr Anju Dogra. V K Magotra and Vinod Dogra, CSE Excide were the guests of honour. Earlier in addition to the above program, BLSKS also organized special  15 day campaign on “BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO” in special coordination with Song and Drama Division of Union I&B Ministry and Office of the J&K ICDS Department in indentified blocks of RS Pura and Bishnah of Jammu District.
In addition the artists of  BLSKS  also covered the villages  like Nari Niketen, Kotli, Phinder, Pind, Miran Sahib, Simbal Camp, etc.
“Ladi Beti–(Beti Bachao- Beti Padhao)” the musical play, written, produced and directed ML Dogra (Chairman BLSKS) reflects the agony of two conservative families who are bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age, ignoring the advice of intellectuals of the society.
Various songs were sung by the artists and the music was assisted by Classical Music Teacher  Sh.Raju Bajgal.
The programme commenced with welcome song presented by the artists of BLSKS and lighting of traditional lamp by the chief guest and guests of honour. Welcoming the dignitaries M L Dogra, Chairman, explained aims and objectives of the programmes which have been assigned to the Sansthan for betterment of society, in his key note address highlighted the various aspects of play.
The singers, musician and actors who performed were Usha Handoo,  MC Kotwal, Gouri Lal, KK Joshi, Rajni Gupta, Raju Bajgal, Sanjeev Sodhi,  Kuldeep Raj, Neelam Gandotra, Kamla Devi, Sunil Kumar, Lalita Bakaya, Archana Sharma and others. Raju Bajgal  presented vote of thanks.
