JAMMU, Dec 28: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) here today staged Musical Play ‘Ladli Beti’. The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Anju Dogra, Registrar SMGS Hospital while V.K Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity and Vinod Dogra, Chief Service Engineer Excide were the guests of honor.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest underlined the importance of staging such plays to generate awareness among masses about various social evils.
Addressing the gathering, V.K Magotra highlighted the ‘Ladli Scheme’ of Government and said that aim of the Scheme is to improve the position of girl child in the society.
“According to the Scheme the girl child gets free education and upbringing and after 18 years of age she is supposed to get Rs. 1 lakh,” he maintained.
The Play was written, produced and directed by M.L Dogra, Chairman BLSKS and it reflects the agony of two conservative families bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age. The marriage turns into a disaster making the life of both bride and groom miserable. Even bride ends her life owing to pangs of pregnancy at childhood after delivery of a dead baby.
The singers, musician and actors who performed in the play were M.C Kotwal, Raju Bajgal, Kuldeep Raj, Bindia Arora, Deevam Jandiyal, Azeen Ali, Sahil Gill, Diksha Pandita, Komal Kotwal, Deepshi Bhat, Kritika Sharma, Mohd Afroz, Sanjeev Sodhi, Kanchan, Sapna Devi, Sakshi Kumari, Chahat Chadha, Sawan Koul, Rishab, Zafar, Dhruv Pandit and Rakshit Sharma.
