JAMMU, Apr 22: To promote the traditional culture of J&K and observe the “World Earth Day”, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged 153th Dogri Musical play “Sadi Laddo” in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production today.
The program was inaugurated by the chief guest V K Magotra. Dr A C Bhagat, J K Raina and Dr Anju Dogra were the guests of honour.
The play “Sadi Laddo” written, produced and directed by M L Dogra (Chairman, BLSKS) reflects the agony of two conservative families who are bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age, ignoring the advice of intellectuals of the society. The marriage turns into a disaster making the life of both bride and groom miserable. Even bride ends her life owing to pangs of pregnancy at childhood after delivery of a dead baby. The cries of baby girl in womb of the mother caution all of us in the society “Don’t kill me. I will be your helping hand in old age”. The song sung by the artists were “Hum sab hi ladli beti”, “Dhiyan gi na marro”, “Mang rahi hai beti jag mai jine ka adhikar”, “Dharti humari us dharti de laal”, “Banjar dharti sona ugle” etc. The music was composed by Raju Bajgal, under the direction of Guru Usha Handoo.
Welcoming the dignitaries, Dr Bhagat explained aims and objectives of the program which have been assigned to the Sansthan for betterment of society. He highlighted various aspects of play which has been produced in collaboration with Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, J&K Government, Central and State Government with Health Department for mass awareness.
Those who performed were M C Kotwal, Hem Raj, Parul Sharma, Renu Saproo, Dhruv Pandit, Hem Raj, Ritesh Magotra, Deevam Jandiyal, Archana Sharma, Kamli Devi, Neelam Gandotra, Rajinder Saini, Tilak Raj, Sanjeev Sodi, Anju Magotra, Shival, Surinder Verma, Salman Bhatti, Manjit Singh, Soyam, Sakshi, Nitin, Zulekha Farid, Sunil Kumar, Sonu Gupta, Ananya, Rakshit Sharma, and many others. Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
