JAMMU, Mar 4: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged its 101th Friday Series Musical Concert ‘Nurture Young Minds- Develop Safety Culture’ to spread awareness on National Safety Week in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production at Janipur, here today.
The musical concert was inaugurated by chief guest JK Raina, freelancer producer & director in presence of guests of honour including Dr Anju Dogra, and VK Magotra, former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity, GoI and Dr Tara Singh Charak.
The songs presented were written and directed by Dr ML Dogra, former Assistant Director of Song and Drama Division, GoI. The chief guest highlighted the importance of National Safety Week and it was also observed that to highlight safety practices on roads and workplaces, various events are organised on this Day to raise awareness about essential safety practices.
The artists sung various songs during the event including “Apu Bachna Duyen Gi Bachana Sabne Gi Samjana”, “Bhai Behno Sab Sunlo”, “Surakasha Jeevan Ka Adhaar”, “Sar Pe Topi Paon Main Juta”, along with folk songs, skits and dances were also presented which was assisted by Raju Bajgal.
During the weeklong event, the BLSKS will present seven shows in different blocks of Jammu district.
Earlier, the chairman BLSKS, Dr ML Dogra said that the Day was observed for the first time in 1972 to mark the foundation day of the National Safety Council in order to develop and sustain a volunteer movement in areas of safety, health and environment.
The singers, musician and actors who performed during the event were MC Kotwal, Usha Raina, Rajni Gupta, Chahat Chadha, Tilak Raj, Bindia Okheda, Raju Bajgal, Manik, Jiya Barua, Vankshika Sharma, Sanjeev Sodhi, Druv Pandit, Sparsh Sharma, Sudesh Manhas and Kamla Devi.
