JAMMU, Mar 9: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) here today presented Dogri Musical Play ‘Navi Chetna’ in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production and National College of Computer Education.
The objective of this play was awareness about the need to test all women, especially pregnant ladies for HIV.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. Anupriya Sharma, President Medical Cell J&K.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest said that National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is on March 10.
She also said that theme of this year’s AIDS Awareness Day is ‘HIV Prevention Starts With Me’
She further said that the message in theme is that everyone-community groups, folks living with HIV, men, women, family members, churches, neighbours etc can play a role in HIV prevention.
The programme commenced with the songs and was followed by awareness item on prevention of Polio.
The Musical Play ‘Navi Chetna’ was written, produced and directed by M.L Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS.
Speaking on the occasion Dogra said that abstinence is the best way to avoid HIV.
Dr. Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, Health Department; Dr. A.C Bhagat, former Chief Officer Department of Animal Husbandry, V.K Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity and others were also present on the occasion.
