BLSKS stages musical play ‘Doli’

JAMMU, July 11: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production, here today, staged musical play ‘Doli’ based on the theme of World Population Day-2022-‘A World of 8 billion: Towards a resilient future for all – Harnessing opportunities and ensuring rights and choices for all’.
The programme was inaugurated by chief guest, Dr. Anju Dogra of J&K Health Department while V.K Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity; J.K Raina, Freelance Producer-Director & Dr. Tara Singh Charak, former Chief Medical Officer were guests of honour.
The songs presented in the music play were written and directed by Dr. M.L Dogra, former Assistant Director of Song and Drama Division.
The programme commenced with songs like ‘Badti Aabadi Roko, Zimmedari Nibhao Plan Banao’ etc.
The chief guest said that another way to observe World Population Day is to spread word about the issues and raise awareness.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Dr. M.L Dogra, BLSKS chairman.
He also highlighted the theme of this year which is based on safeguarding the health and rights of women and girls around the world.
Usha Raina, treasurer BLSKS also spoke on the occasion.
Singers, musicians, actors and students of Music and Computer Institute who performed in the concert were Rajni Gupta, Vandana Gupta, Sudesh Manhas, Bindia Okheda, Mohd Afroz, Sunil Kumar Dalotra, Chahat Chadha, Rahul Kumar and others.
Sunil Kumar presented vote of thanks.
