JAMMU, Nov 25: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) here today staged musical play ‘Shakti’ in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production (STAP).
State Gharana & SaReGaMa awardee, Suraj Singh was the chief guest on this occasion.
Earlier in welcome address M.L Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS said, for the elimination of violence against women government, international organizations and non-governmental organizations should raise awareness.
He said that since the year, 2000 November 25 is being observed as International Day of Violence against Women.
“Violence against women and girls is a global issue. It remains one of the most persistent human rights violations and a threat to millions of girls and women,” he maintained.
Songs for safety of girls were also sung by the artists on this occasion.
The play was assisted by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor of BLSKS.
Usha Handoo, Troupe leader STAP explained aims and objectives of the programme which have been assigned to the Sansthan for the betterment of the society.
The singers, musician and actors who performed were K.K Joshi, Rajni Gupta, Deevam Jandiyal, Rakshit Sharma, Druv Pandit, M.C Kotwal, Bhoomika Chib, Ujwal Sharma, Rakshit Sharma and others.
