BLSKS stages musical play ‘Vaishav Jan’

JAMMU, Aug 20: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged its 74th Friday series musical concert ‘Vaishav Jan’ in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art production to promote traditional Duggar culture at Rehearsal Hall, Durga Bhawan Janipur, here today.
The program was inaugurated by chief guest VK Magotra, former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity GoI, whereas Dr Anju Dogra, JK Raina, freelancer producer & director and Dr Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, J&K Health Department were the guests of honour.
The songs were written and directed by ML Dogra, former Assistant Director of song and drama division, Ministry of Information Broadcasting GoI. The programme commenced with song of ‘Vaisna Jan Tene Kaheye’, “Ek Bari Phi Sotu Laye Bapu Fera Pai Jayean’, Kud Jio which was sung by the renowned artist MC Kotwal and assisted by Raju Bajgal of the BLSKS.
The musical concert, dances and skits were also presented during the event which was appreciated by the audience and dignitaries.
The chief guest highlighted the importance of the ‘World Humanitarian Day’ designated in memory of the August 19, 2003 bomb attack on the Canal Hotel in Baghdad Iraq, killing 22 people, including the chief humanitarian in Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello.
Welcoming the dignitaries, ML Dogra, BLSKS chairman explained aims and objectives of the programme and highlighted that human history is filled with wars, injustices, famine, and many other countless tragedies.
The programme was presented by various artists including Usha Handoo, Rajni Gupta, Raju Bajgal, Chahat Chadha, Sanjeev Sodhi, KK Joshi, MC Kotwal and Tilak Raj, whereas Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
