BLSKS stages Play ‘Ladli Beti’

JAMMU, Aug 25: To celebrate ‘International Women’s Equality Day’, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) here today staged Musical Play ‘Ladli Beti’ in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production and National Computer Education centre.
The play was written, produced and directed by M.L Dogra, BLSKS Chairman.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Anju Dogra from Health Department while V.K Magotra, former Regional Director Field Publicity, Dr. Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director Health Department and J.K Raina, Producer-Director Films were guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest underlined the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the State to spread awareness among the masses about various social evils.
She also highlighted ‘Ladli Beti’ scheme of the Government of India and threw light on its different aspects and benefits.
Earlier in welcome address, M.L Dogra, BLSKS Chairman said that men and women are both equal and both play vital role in the creation and development of society.
On this occasion, women organizations’ organised programmes like video shows, cultural programmes, rallies etc for awareness.
The play Ladli reflects the agony of two conservative families who are hell bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age, ignoring the advice of intellectuals of the society.
The artists who performed in the play were Usha Handoo, M.C Kotwal, Rajni Gupta, Raju Bajgal, Kuldeep Raj, Sumeta Bhat, Dhruv Pandit, Chahat Chadha, Sunil Kumar, Deevam Jandiyal, Bhumika Chib, Sawan Koul, Azen Ali, Shiv Kumar, Uttam Singh, Diksha Jamwal, Sanjay, Renu Saproo and others.
