JAMMU, July 26: Bharat Lok Sevak Party (LSP) known as Aarakshan Virodhi Party in a meeting here, today held under the presidentship of Ram Pal Seth condemned the continuation of caste based reservation and demanded its immediate abolition.
While addressing the meeting R.P.Seth said the Reservation of any kind is not in favour of the nation and it is dragging the nation on back foot and also creating wedge in the society. He also criticized the 10 % reservation granted to the EWS of the society and said that instead of increasing the percentage of reservation, the Government should reduce reservation at least 10% every year so that it ends within next five years.
He said the number of people demanding reservation on caste basis is increasing day by day which is a matter of great concern. Reservations have failed to bring equality in the society as it remained confined to certain families, he added.
Non identification of creamy layer among SCs and STs is also the main reason for it as a son of labourer and Minister falls in same category which is not justified. He said that the special support measures may be provided to below poverty line in order to compete with others as we need strong society and competitive young generation to make India number one nation in the world.
He said the State Unit of Bharat Lok Sevak Party extended the support to Bharat Bandh on August 9 and also appealed the public in general to observe Bandh on August 9 against the caste based reservation and other caste based social schemes.
Madan Lal Narad, general secretary of the party said that the Governor rule is more suitable for the State in present time and it needs to be continued till proper cleaning of corruption and terrorism. He also appealed the Governor to set up Delimitation Commission at the earliest and hold the Assembly elections only after that. He stressed upon immediate rotation of reserved constituencies as these have debarred so many deserving candidate of general category to contest from these constituencies. Besides he demanded scrapping of the Articles 370 & 35 A which suit only some politicians. Moreover both articles are harmful to the State as well as unity and integrity of the nation, he added.
He suggested for rotation of reserved constituencies after every term.
