BMS demands minimum wages

JAMMU, Feb 8: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) today demanded minimum wages at par with Union Territory of the country.
A deputation of the BMS led by Ashok Choudhary, General Secretary along with Harbans Choudhary, Chouni Lal and Rohit Seth met with Commissioner/Secretary Labour and Employment at PWD Guest House, Gandhi Nagar here and submitted representation for revision of minimum wages at par with other Union Territories of the country.
They demanded marriage assistances cases which have been laying pending with the J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board since 2017 be settled, new banks accounts of the building construction workers be allowed for registration, death and higher education form be allowed to down load from the website of the board directly and registration officer be given powers for renewal up to two years.
BMS further demanded that a committee be constituted for abolishing the contractual labour system on perennial nature of jobs in the industry
The Commissioner/Secretary gave patient hearing and assured them all necessary actions will be taken in all the matters soon.
