BMS demands revision of min wages

JAMMU, June 22: A deputation of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) met LG’s Advisor, Farooq Khan and submitted a memorandum demanding revision of minimum wages in J&K at par with those at Central Government like other UTs.
Ashok Choudhary, BMS General Secretary told the Advisor that minimum wages were last revised in the year 2017.
“As about three years have passed the earlier revision has lost relevance and it has become very difficult to meagre day to day needs with such meagre wages,” he said and further brought into the notice of Advisor that functioning of PF office Kathua and Rajouri has come at grinding halt.
The BMS General Secretary demanded deputing of fulltime officials for Kathua and Rajouri PF offices.
De-notifying the ESI Model Hospital Bari Brahmana was also demanded.
The Advisor gave a patient hearing and assured that necessary actions are being taken in the interest of workers.
