BMS holds annual conference

REASI, June 25:  The 12th  Conference of J&K State Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) was held at Jyotipuram near here today. The conference was held under the chairmanship of Vijay Chandyal, state president BMS.
The All India vice president of BMS K Lakshma Reddy, Kartar Singh Rathore, vice president, Virender Kumar Zonal incharge and Lakshman Ravinder Singh senior Trade Union leader graced the occasion.
Hundreds of delegates from 50 affiliated unions with BMS from entire state participated in the conference. They included a sizeable number of Mahila delegates, industrial workers and others.
Addressing the delegates Mr Reddy, Kartar Singh and Lakshaman Ravinder Singh urged the Government to settle the demands of the working class and not to test their patience.
On the occasion the state general secretary of the BMS presented the report for the last three years. Besides various resolutions were also passed.
Prem Kumar delivered the lecture on great Indian culture and traditions. He urged the workers to work hard .
Mr Reddy said that due to wrong economic policies of the Central Government the working class in particular and general masses general are facing problem of price rise, unemployment, economic showdown and non implementation of labour laws.
Many resolutions were also passed and demanded to revised minimum wages fixing Rs 10,000 for unskilled labour, call a tripartite labour advisory board meeting to discuss the problems of workers, abolish contract labour system, implement ESI and EPF scheme, regularization of daily wagers who have completed seven years of service, payment of Rs 10,000 as monthly wages to Anganwari workers and Rs 5000 to helpers and introduction of pension, EPF and gratuity schemes for them.
