JAMMU, July 30: A meeting of prominent daily wager leaders from Chenab valley area was held here today under the leadership of Ashok Choudhary, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) Pardesh Sangathan Mantri.
The meeting discussed agitation and regularization issues of daily wagers.
Harbans Choudhary, senior BMS leader stressed that earlier the daily wagers working in PHE, PDD, PWD and Irrigation Departments were covered under EPF and on their regularization their contributions deducted under EPF were transferred to GPF but from the last some years, the concerned officials have stopped this thereby putting the poor daily wagers to losses and snatching social security from them.
It was unanimously decided that for the regularization of daily wagers and for the implementation of social security to them at district level, a convener and co-convener shall be nominated.
Hence, Rajesh Kumar Sharma was made convener and Altaf Hussain, co-convener for Kishtwar; Ravi Bushan Sharma, convener and Sajid Aslam Qazi, co-convener for Doda and Gulam Nabi, convener and Ashiq Ali, co-convener for Ramban.
