BMS protests against ‘anti-labour policies’

JAMMU, Apr 26: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) here today staged a protest demonstration against the alleged anti-labour policies of Union as well J&K Governments.
The protest was staged at all the District Headquarter across the country and memorandum was sent to the Prime Minister in this regard through Deputy Commissioner.
Addressing protesters BMS leader Ashok Choudhary said that the resolutions adopted in triennial conference at Patna on April 7-9 had demands of social security to all the employees of private sector, scheme workers and old age pension to all the 60 plus population.
The protesters flayed the rampart contract system which has been introduced all over the country and demanded that those who worked through contract system should not be disengaged if the work continues.
They demanded suitable amendment in Contract Labour Act 1970 and equal pay for equal work.
The protesters also demanded National Labour Policy to be framed considering economic development.
BMS J&K general secretary, Neelam Sharma claimed that J&K government is hardily paying Rs. 600 as State share to Anganwadi workers, which is lowest in the whole country and there is no social security scheme is being provided to the Anganwadi Workers/Helpers.
