JAMMU, Dec 30: Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) will raise the burning issues of J&K Daily Wagers, Anganwadi Workers and J&K Bank in pre-budget meeting with Government of India.
This was announced by North India Organizing Secy, BMS, Pawan Kumar in a press conference held here today.
While addressing the media personnel, he stressed that since J&K is a UT from 2019 and all the financial matters are being looked after by the Central Govt, so in the changed scenario special financial assistance in budgetary provision must be made for regularization of Daily Wagers (DWs) who are working for last more than 30 years in different departments of J&K. Their pending salaries of 70 months have to be considered by the Central Govt.”
“Similarly, the state share of Anganwadi Workers (AWs) has not been revised/enhanced from the last 15 years despite increasing the workload manifold on AWs and helpers by the State Govt. The UT Central Govt is responsible for enhancing the state share and so budgetary provision must be made by Central Govt as a special case,” he said.
Pawan said, “The J&K Bank is the only bank in India whose administrative control lies with Home Ministry rather than Finance Ministry which administers the entire banking industry of India. BMS demands J&K Bank must be brought in the ambit of Finance Ministry.”
BMS is going to highlight these popular demands of DWs, AWs and J&K Bank employees in its scheduled pre-budget meeting with the Finance Minister of India, in which they has been invited.
“We have chalked out awareness for daily wagers in which the popular demands of daily wagers will be brought into the notice of MLAs and MPs by submitting memorandums to them for redressal of their demands,” he added.
Among others who were present during the conference included Neelam Sharma, State General Secretary and Ashok Choudhary (Org Secy BMS J&K).
