JAMMU, Mar 17: German luxury car-maker BMW launched the new version of Mini Convertible in India with a price tag of Rs 34.9 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Mini Cooper Convertible is brought to India as CBU (Completely-Built Unit) route in India. It is powered by a 2-litre four-cylinder Twin-Power Turbo engine that is tuned to churn out 189bhp of power and 280Nm of torque. The engine comes paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission and the car can accelerate from 0 to100 kmph in 7.1 seconds before reaching a top speed of 233 kmph.
“The all-new Mini Convertible is unapologetically outgoing. It’s a spontaneous and emotionally intensive way of savouring authentic Mini driving fun. A non-stop thrill behind the wheel for those who know there’s always a little more to feel. It is able to seize and share those intangible moments of pure joy precisely because of its contagious enthusiasm and its impulsive streak. It creates a world in technicolour, packed with impulse, emotion and unbridled energy”, Philipp von Sahr, President of BMW Group India, said.
The new Mini Cooper Convertible measures 3,821mm in length, 1,727mm in width and 1,415mm in height. It is wider, taller and longer than its predecessor. It comes packed with safety features such as front and passenger airbags, 3-point seat belt, Cornering Brake Control, brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control, crash sensor, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and traction control. Other features include multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, head-up display and Mini Excitement package offers, including LED interior and ambient lighting.
The new generation Cooper Convertible joins Mini’s Cooper, Cooper S and Countryman models in India. The new Mini Convertible will be available in 13 colour options, including two non-metallic body shades (pepper white and volcanic orange).
